The Sunshine Bus program provides transportation services using a mini-bus. Rides are available based on volunteer availability for our seniors residing in Rohnert Park, Cotati, and Penngrove for medical appointments, shopping, or other personal needs. On Tuesday mornings, we go to Santa Rosa for medical, DMV, or Social Security only. Cost is $7 per round trip for Rohnert Park and $12 per round trip to Santa Rosa. There are requirements and an application process to participate in the ride program. Please call the Senior Center front desk at 707-585-6780 for more information.

Starting April 19, Petaluma People Services will be launching iRIDE Rohnert Park! The volunteer ride program is open to Rohnert Park residents 60 and older and is FREE of charge. Please contact PPSC to learn more about volunteering as a driver or enrolling as a rider. Call 707-765-8488, ext. 429.

The Elder Law Program of Sonoma County Legal Aid has appointments at the Rohnert Park Senior Center on the 4th Tuesday of each month. Appointments must be scheduled in advance and are subject to qualification of services. For more information, please call Legal Aid of Sonoma County at 707-340-5610.

The Elder Law Program provides free legal help with:

• Restraining Orders
• Landlord/Tenant issues (subject to referral)
• Simple Wills/Powers of Attorney/Advanced Healthcare Directives
• Appealing reduction/termination of SSI or SSDI
• Probate Conservatorship/Guardianship issues (under limited circumstances)

HICAP (Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program) is currently providing phone counseling only at this time. Please call 800-434-0222 or 707-526-4108 to make an appointment.

SHARE Sonoma County is offering a Home Sharing Program to provide affordable housing and to help seniors "age in place". SHARE (Shared Housing And Resource Exchange) facilitates secure home shares for homeowners and renters who are currently stressed financially, experiencing life transitions, looking for companionship, or needing basic assistance (service exchange) to help them thrive and remain safely at home.
