🚲 BICYCLES & E-BIKES
Helmets are required for all riders under 18.
Class 3 e-bikes (up to 28 mph) are not allowed for riders under 16.
No driver’s license or permit is needed to ride a bike or e-bike.
Obey all traffic laws—stop signs, lights, and right-of-way apply to you, too.
Use lights and reflectors in low-light conditions.
Stay alert: no headphones in both ears, no phone use while riding.
🛴 SCOOTERS & E-SCOOTERS
Riders must be at least 16 years old to use an e-scooter in California.
Helmets are required for riders under 18.
A valid driver’s license or permit is required for e-scooters.
Only one rider per scooter—no doubling up.
E-scooter riders must follow all the same traffic rules as bikes and cars.
