Rohnert Park, Calif. — At the Nov. 18 meeting, the City of Rohnert Park City Council unanimously approved, 5-0, to agree to preliminary terms with CenterCal Properties, LLC on the development of 6400 State Farm Drive. The vote moves the City one step closer of developing a site that has been unused since 2010.
The terms include a path toward creating 300 or more housing units, over 140,000 square feet of retail, and at least a 100-room hotel at the potential new “Downtown” of Rohnert Park, all located on the SMART rail line station. In addition, the City will retain rights to host community events at the one-acre plaza in the proposed plans, making it an ideal space to better connect Rohnert Park residents together and to the greater Sonoma County area and North Bay.
“Rohnert Park has always had a lot of heart,” said Mayor Giudice, “but we never had a physical manifestation of that heart. This plan and this Downtown will be that heart.”
In addition to what’s being added onsite, as part of the terms of the agreement, CenterCal will relocate a 50-year-old waterline current on the property to be placed along Enterprise Drive; while the City has committed to improving offsite traffic in the area. The project will continue to go through the City’s approval process, with the final plan approved by the Planning Commission and a disposition and developer Agreement (DDA) requiring approval from City Council, expected in the second half of 2026.
