[ARCHIVED] Fatal Hit and Run Investigation Results in Arrest

On November 28, 2025 at approximately 6:35pm, the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety (RPDPS) received a 911 call regarding a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision at the intersection of Snyder Lane and Capri Way in Rohnert Park. RPDPS Police and Fire personnel arrived at the scene within five minutes of the initial dispatch and immediately began providing life-saving efforts to the pedestrian. Unfortunately, the pedestrian succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision.
RPDPS Officers and Detectives continued investigating this incident and were able to identify the suspect as a 17-year-old male Sonoma County resident. On November 29, 2025, RPDPS Officers and Detectives executed a search warrant in Petaluma where the suspect and the vehicle involved were located.
The 17-year-old male was arrested and booked into the Sonoma County Juvenile Detention Facility on suspicion of committing the following felony crimes:
California Penal Code Section 192(c)(1) – Vehicular Manslaughter
California Vehicle Code Section 20001(a) – Failure to stop at the scene of an accident resulting in death
The identity of the victim is not being released at this time. Due to the suspect being a juvenile, his identity will not be released.
